Bukchon Hanok Village 북촌한옥마을, Gyeongbokgung Palace 경복궁

Bukchon Hanok Village (북촌한옥마을)

Bukchon Hanok Village is home to hundreds of traditional houses called 'hanok' that date back to the Joseon Dynasty. The name, 'Bukchon,' which literally translates to 'northern village,' came about as the neighborhoods that the village covers lie to the north of the two significant Seoul landmarks, Cheonggyecheon Stream and Jongno. Today, many of these hanoks operate as cultural centers, guesthouses, restaurants and tea houses, providing an opportunity to experience, learn and immerse in Korean traditional culture.

about the old town part,I wasn't so impressed
It is nice to visit but don't expect too much.
homes are privately owned and not open to the public
except for a small one .

Gyeongbokgung Palace (경복궁)

Built in 1395,
The National Museum of Korea and the National Folk Museum are located on the grounds of this palace, built six centuries ago by the founder of the Chosun dynasty.

This place is one of the largest and well known places in Korea.
Even though most of the place has been rebuilt- it is still a wonderful cultural experience.
